How did it all start..? bassist Darren and his ole guitarist mate Toni Vines decided it was about time Ipswich had a good time rock and roll band ! so, they enlisted Toni's wife Tina on backing vocals, Martin on vocals-acoustic,mandolin, banjo & guinness, Neil on guitar, vocals, harmonica, golden virginia & jack daniels and Dave Morris on the drums. They were also helped out from time to time by Tony Ryan on pedal steel guitar. Shortly after forming, Dave left and the band recruited Craig Clark on the drums...the line up change saw a cd of covers, entitled "lazy days",  recorded at Ipswich's gemini studios. It gained airplay and secured the Camels some gigs as far afield as germany, followed by the band recording  "fairytale of new york" at bbc radio suffolk for a christmas charity compilation album. After a while Tina, Toni and Craig left the ranks and the camels recruited Mark Smith on the drums and Tim Legrice on guitar & backing vocals. The band have certainly made their mark on the east anglian music scene, catch them soon if you've not already... for more pics and to listen to tracks from our cd please visit www.myspace.com/camelfootraiders
